The gameplay of Star Wars: Squadrons is revealed on EA Play for Not E3

Electronic Arts unveiled the first gameplay of its upcoming space war game Star Wars: Squadrons. The publisher revealed the vehicle-based fighter after leaks last week. Now, during its EA Play event as part of "Not E3", it finally showed it in action.

Star Wars: Squadrons launches on October 2 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for $ 40. At this low price, Squadrons includes a single player campaign, but the focus is on multiplayer. For the narrative you will receive two pilots who offer opposing perspectives on the story. One is a pilot of the New Republic. The other is a pilot for the remaining Imperial forces. As a member of the New Republic's Vanguard Squadron, it's up to you to clean up the Imperial fleet.

Squadrons also supports VR in any mode.

And now we know more about what the game actually looks like. [/ embed]

The game has eight ships. This includes fighters like X-Wings and TIEs as well as bombers and more. You can of course customize your ship. This includes cosmetic improvements, but you can also create your own weapon loadout.

Once you have your ship, you can take it with you in battles where you have to work with your squad to win. This includes modes in which you team up with other people or computer-controlled team members to fight waves of enemies. Or you can go into team-to-team multiplayer mode.
